ECC “Lil’ Helping Hornets” community service project raises money for students in Port A

The Early Childhood Center “Lil’ Helping Hornets” recently took part in a community service project to support students at Olsen Elementary School in Port Aransas ISD. The school collected $1,000 to go towards a shade project for the Olsen Elementary School playground damaged by Hurricane Harvey.  The money from the community service project came from the school’s celebration of the ‘100th Day of School’ and Valentine Candy Gram sales.

“Even after providing some of our students a safe shelter to learn after the storm, they continue to reach out to us,” said Gina McKeever, H.G. Olsen Elementary School Principal. “Thank you to our friends and neighbors in Flour Bluff.”

ECC Principal, Amy Seeds visited Olsen Elementary and presented the $1,000 check during the school’s morning circle.
